Ethiopian Tasting Kit

Haji & Zuri Yirgacheffee Ethiopian Coffee Beans and Fat Miilk Filter
Coffee Flavor Wheel, Tasting Notes Cards, 1 tbsp. 2-in-1 Solid Wood Coffee Bean Scoop

discover the truth - Are You Wild or Mild when it comes to ethiopian coffee beans?

Ethiopian Yirgacheffe coffee beans are considered to be one of the very best Ethiopian coffee varietals in the world. It comes from the region of Yirga Chefe  in southern Ethiopia. Yirgacheffe beans are grown slowly in a warm and  tropical climate with moderate wet and dry seasons on mountainside  "fincas" (farms) at 5400-7200 feet above sea level. The variety,  terroir, and processing methods create a brilliant floral body with  shimmery citrus notes resulting in a clean, light, complex bean.   Natural Yirgacheffes that are patio dried like our Haji and  Zuri Yirgacheffe have an elegant and smooth “silky” or “juicy”  mouthfeel.

The single-origin Ethiopian coffee we offer "Haji Yirgacheffe" is intentionally a medium-light roast to retain the incredibly honest bouquet the Yirga Chefe region is known for. Americans tend to prefer darker roasts so we've also created a proprietary blend of our single-origin Ethiopian Yirgacheffe coffee beans with our very best Guatemalan single-origin dark roast bringing you a rich, full-bodied Ethiopian/Guatemalan blend that opens up the brightest  fruits and richest depth as you've come to expect from Tiny Goat. This  blend is called Zuri Yirgacheffe.

(1) 8 oz. bag Zuri Yirgacheffe
(1) Fat Miilk Phin Filter (Gold) with box and instructions
(1) solid wood 1 tbsp. coffee bean scoop
(1) flavor wheel (inspired by the original SCA 1995 wheel)
(2) tasting cards for writing observations
(2) harvest detail cards for Haji and Zuri Yirgacheffe

Fat Miilk Phin Filter with 22 g. (4 tbsp.) Ethiopian coffee beans,  freshly ground med-fine to fine per 6 oz. distilled water. The resulting  concentrated coffee can be used to fill (2) two cups with your choice  of sweetened condensed milk or any favorite creamer.

The phin filter is unique from other pour over methods,  particularly if you have a gravity press model, as used in the fat miilk  phin filter, because it compresses the grounds and restricts the speed  at which the water can flow downward. This results in a much stronger  cup of coffee without the introduction of air many experience with the  pour over method.
